October 13, 2017October 14, 2017 Early October The raised beds have been lush, thick, and green in early fall. A mini-harvest the first week of October—goodies we brought to a family party: chard, green onions, and parsley. I love our bunches of green onions—thick and long! Some of the first bell peppers we’ve harvested: King of the North, Cal Wonder. Small Hidalgo chili peppers from a stem that broke off the plant. (These eventually turn red.) Broccoli and rainbow chard. Leeks, leeks, and leeks. Lots of cucumbers.
